In August 2008,
PINPG commenced talks with IVN – Association for
Environmental Education, Non Government Organisation
from Holland in relation to development of a Draft
Project to be submitted to MATRA – Holland
Government project program.
Firstly, two
starting points were considered for development of
the Draft Project.
1. The development of the Visitor
Centre for National Park Galicica is in the focus of
the project.
2. The future
development of National Park Galicica is in the
focus of the project.
On the bases of
this, during the period from 22nd to 29th
of December 2008, delegation made up of two
representatives from IVN visited PINPG for a
discussion about these ideas and for a final concept
of the project. After a series of consultations with
the expert team of PINPG, the partners agreed to
apply for a project with a general goal of Strategy
development for Environmental Education and furnish
the Visitor Centre of National Park Galicica. The
project will be conducted by PINP Galicica and IVN.
Training will attend employees of Public Institution
National Park Mavrovo, Public Institution National
Park Pelister, National Park Prespa Albania,
Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of
Republic of Macedonia, Public Relations Office,
Mountaineering Society Magaro from Ohrid, Museum of
Natural Science – Skopje, Macedonia and Museum of
Natural Science – Struga, Macedonia.
The partners have
agreed for the concrete goals of the project to be:
1.
Training for the employees of NPG and other National
Parks in the region, as well as Ministry for
Environment and Spatial Planning, NGOs, Museums of
Natural Science and other.
2.
Development and furnishing of the future Visitor
Center.
3.
Development / evaluation of the Environmental
Education Strategy for NPG.
Implementation is planned to
begin in September 2009 and completion is expected
in September 2010.
Activities to follow

Finalization
of a draft project by 1st of March 2009.
·
Submission
of project application by mid March 2009.
·
Decision on
acceptance by mid July 2009.
