The Park has modern information center

At twelve o’clock today, the new information center of PINP Galicica was promoted in official ceremony. Distinguished officials on the local and national level were present for the official opening. Among others, present were the First Secretary of the Italian Embassy – Mr. Ricardo Ricco, the Mayor of Ohrid and Mayor of Resen, Directors of National Parks: Mavrovo and Pelister, and others.

“Sincere gratitude to the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs which financed the information center. The center is a matter of pride not only for the Park and the Municipalities of Ohrid and Resen, but for the whole country „ – said the Director of the Park, Mr. Zoran Angeloski and he added - “in addition to the support from several relevant factors, such as the cooperation with the Italian non Government Organization CRIC, I must point out the exceptional work efforts given by the personnel of the Park in the past period in order to achieve this and many other successes. Such attitude on the part of the employees of the Park, towards their work tasks promises even grater achievements in the future “ – said the Director.

The true cooperation that we have with the employees of the Park can only result in a success like this Information Center. The construction of this Center is of great importance for the protection of the Park and for the process of raising the public awareness about the environment with the residents – said Mr. Roberto Ricco, the First Secretary of the Italian Embassy.

This official ceremony marked the end of the activities in relation to the construction of this object that lasted for eight months. The 300 000 Euros spent for the construction of the Center, were granted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This commercial Information Centre will provide opportunity for the residents who live within the boundaries of the Park to sell locally made products. There will be a national restaurant incorporated in the building of the Information Centre as well.
