PINP Galicica and Delta Club KLL from Prilep lived up to the responsibility laid upon them for the organization of the Paragliding World Cup – Target landing held this weekend in Ohrid. This year only six countries earn their right to organize Word Cup in this discipline. PINPG and KLL manage to bring the Cup in Macedonia. This event asserts the Park as a location of sport and tourism attraction not only in the country but abroad as well. 

Eight teams from six countries took part in the competitions over two days. They competed in six series of competitions and proved that this is the most exciting discipline. By the end of the fifth series the winner was uncertain. At the end of the sixth and final series the difference between the second and the sixth place was six points only.

 Day one there were four flights and apart form the two small incidents, everything was running smoothly. The competitor form Czech Republic Marketa Tomaskova injured her leg and followed the rest of the competition as a spectator.  

After the second day and following the last two flights, the winner for men was Jaka Korenc from the club Kanja, Slovenia with 18 points. The winner and former two time world champion said – The Mountain is exceptionally well suited for paragliding. It is much more than mere competition, the view from above during the flight is exceptional. Congratulations for the organizers. Having such strong competition I am very happy with the win that was uncertain until the last flight of Anton. I will be here next year.  

Second place was taken by his countryman Anton Svoljsak gaining 29 points. The competitor from Macedonia Martin Jovanoski took the third place with 32 points.

 “I am here in Ohrid for the first time and I will long remember to tell about my experiences here as a competitor and a visitor. I have never been to a Mountain that is better suited for paragliding. The flights here last very long time and the views below are breath taking” said the silver medalist in women division Nikola Ileva (Bulgaria). She achieved 2400 points. The winner was Milica Bukanin (Serbia) with a great difference of 2060 points. Third place was taken by Ivana Kusanovik from Croatia. 

In team competition there was close race for the second position between “Best 4 Nike” and Delta from Prilep that eventually slipped to third place. The first place in team event was taken by “Monteparapro”.

During the closing ceremony of this event the director of PINPG Zoran Angeloski thank all Sponsors and volunteers to the event that made this event possible in cooperation with the Park and Delta Club KLL from Prilep. The organization of this World Cup Paragliding competition in target landing was excellent thanks to ARM, MVR of RM, Hem-Tem, Red Cross Ohrid and others.
