Ljubanista is a last village within the Park before the national border with R Albania.  About 2 km away from the village, the St. Naum monastery and Crn Drim springs are located.  This area with the has great historical, cultural, and commercial value for the whole country.  Accordng to the 2002 census, Ljubanista has population of 171.  They are mostly older residents living in the upper part of the village, in renovated, and stone made houses.

The lower part of the village contains mostly newly build holiday and weekend houses, used during the summer.  There is an old school building, left over from the times when there were more children attending school in the village.  The small number of children living in the village today, attend school in Pestani.
