Is situated on the shore of Lake Ohrid, distanced about 10 km from Ohrid.  The population of 1326 makes this village the largest populated area on the National Park territory.  On the outskirts of Pestani there is the hotel complex of Desaret, and the auto caravan park Gradiste. Also, there some small family hotels in the village, as well as private house accommodations, and restaurants.

It can be easily said that Pestani functions as a tourist settlement over the summer period.  Life and existence in this village has close ties with the lake.  In the past fishing was a main occupation for the residents.  There is an eight grade primary school in the village that accommodates pupils from surrounding settlements as well.
