The village of Ramne is distanced from Ohrid 4 – 5
km. The real number of permanent residents is very
small(2 – 3 families), but in the last census of
2002, there are 632 declared residents in the
village of Ramne. 559 of those are older than 15
years of age. Most houses in the village are old
and deserted, made of stone and mud. There are some
new and modern houses that are used occasionally.
The
lack of running water, makes the living in the
village difficult. The old and deserted school
building is a silent witness of the times when the
village had primary school pupils. Today, most of
the residents find work in Ohrid, with exception of
few cattle breeders and medical herb collectors.
