This
zone covers the rest of the National Park, mostly
covered by forest. Due to the prolonged
anthropogenic influence in the past, the forests
were in quite bad condition. By the time this area
was declared a National Park, the level of
degradation to some sections was such, that some of
the forests were turned into scrub.
With introductions of special ten year programs for
forest improvement, the forest quality was improved
continuously, and the area covered by forest is
growing still. At the same time, good care is taken
to preserve the types and their ratio and not to
interfere with the biodiversity of the National Park
